JU enters semis of VC’s T20

JAMMU, Dec 19: Defending champion, University of Jammu (JU) today entered into the semifinals stages of the ongoing All India Vice-Chancellor’s Twenty20 Tournament at New Delhi.

In the quarterfinals, played today, JU trounced Shimla University by a convincing margin of 51 runs. Earlier, batting first, JU set a target of 170 runs for the loss of six wickets in the game reduced to 16 overs due to fog. Amit was top scorer with 35 runs while Raj Kumar and Rajesh contributed 33 and 25 runs respectively. Daud added 28 runs. From Shimla University, Rajesh Chouhan, Mukesh and Chander took one wicket each.
In reply, Shimla University could make 118 runs for seven in given 16 overs. Rajesh Chouhan remained the top scorer with 35 runs. Lalit Chouhan and Dharam Parkash added 22 and 17 runs respectively. From JU, Rajesh emerged as most successful bower with two for eight runs, followed by Daud, who also bagged two wickets. Raj Kumar and Pawan as also Abinav shared apiece each.
For his all round performance, Rajesh was declared man of the match.
