57th National School Games in Wushu | 15 medals for J&K as Delhi bags overall trophy in Wushu | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 19: Jammu and Kashmir bagged 15 medals, including one gold, 10 silver and four bronze, while Delhi emerged as overall champion in the 57th National School Games U-19 (Boys and Girls) in Wushu, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here. While, J&K remained runners up with a tally of 39 points, Delhi secured 70 points out of 12 gold, two silver and four bronze medals. Manipur clinched the third spot with 34 points.
Meanwhile, in below 32 kg category, in the final bouts of girls section, Kh Renubala of Manipur trounced Farhat of Bihar to win gold, while in below 36 kg, Ladli of Delhi outplayed Kamaljit of Punjab to bag gold in below 40 kg category. Reema Munda of Jharkhand toppled Poorvi of MP in 40 kg, while Sweety of Delhi got better of Savita of J&K to clinch gold. While, Bina Rani of Manipur outclassed Neelam of Bihar in the final bout of below 48 kg category. Champion of Manipur drubbed Neelam of Bihar in below 52 category, while Mumtaz of Manipur trounced Anjali of Delhi in the final bout of below 56 kg category. Navpreet of Punjab trounced Deepika of Delhi in below 60 kg category, while Amita of Delhi drubbed Sapna of J&K in below 65 kg category. Arti of Delhi won gold by defeating Uroosa Gazi of J&K in the final bout of 65 kg category. In boys section, Virender of J&K clinched gold by toppling NG Chinglamba of Manipur in 36 kg category, while in below 40 kg category, Mohan Sahu of Delhi trounced Zuhaid of J&K. In below 44 kg, Aavesh of Delhi toppled Sahil Choudhary of J&K, while Rohit Singh of Manipur got better of Sandip Singh of Punjab in below 48 kg category. In below 52 kg category, Rohit of Delhi outclassed Rocket Singh of Manipur to win gold, while Arun of Delhi downed Sajan of J&K in below 56 kg category. In below 60 kg, Dilip of Delhi beat Aamir of J&K, while in 65 kg category, Nariender of Delhi toppled Rajat of J&K. Pradeep of Delhi outplayed Yasir of J&K in below 70 kg category, while in above 70 kg category, Sumit of Delhi defeated Rajinder of J&K to bag gold. The bouts were officiated by the panel of experts including Kuldeep Handoo, Dinesh Mishra, Rajesh Tailor, Vivek Samania, Manoj Gupta, Ajay Pal Gill and Nitin, while Rajinder Koul is the convener technical committee.
