| State fencing team named for nationals | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 20: Jammu and Kashmir Fencing Association today selected 18-member team for participation in Senior National Fencing Championship to be held at Billai in Chattishgarh from December 25 to December 29.
Earlier, the selected probable underwent a 20-day coaching camp at MA Stadium, here. The final team selected today included 12 men and six women fencers. The team is led by international fencer, SI Rashid Ahmed. Shottu Lal Sharma is accompanying as coach while Ajay Khatrol is manager of the team.
The Team: MEN: Sabre: Rashid Ahmed, Ujjwal Gupta, Vishal Thapper and Maninderpal. Epee: Varun Slathia, Ankush Gupta, Sahib Gupta and Bhisham Slathia. Foil: Ranchan Sabarwal, Gurucharan Singh, Mohd Tariq and Ajay Singh.
WOMEN: Shivani Hans, Dimple Thappa, Shifali Gupta, Richa Sabarwal, Monika Gupta, Simran Arya.
