Ph D on art and personality of Fareed Parbati

Jammu, Dec 20: The Department of Urdu, University of Jammu has decided to do Ph.D on the Art and personality of Fareed Parbati a prominent poet of J&K who expired recently in Srinagar Kashmir.
The decision was taken in the DRC meeting held on 19th of December 2011.
The topic has been allotted to a student namely Mohd Ashraf. The meeting was attended by Nusrat Ara Choudhary, convener, Shohab Inayat Malik,HoD Urdu, Zia-ud-Din, M.A. Wani, Reyaz Ahmed, Chaman Lal, A R Manhas and Farat Shamim
Giving details to the press the HOD Urdu Prof Shohab Inayat Malik said that as a mark of tribute to veteran poet Fareed Parbati decision has been taken in the DRC to do Ph.d on the life and works of Fareed Parbati.
He informed that Fareed Parbati at his young age had established himself as a towering poet of the sub-continent.
He has published several collections of poetry as well as critical books and articles.
Besides several leading Urdu Journals had published the special number on the art and personality of late poet who not only wrote urdu poetry but also attended and presented paper in several National and International seminars. Keeping in view the work done by Fareed Parbati the DRC has allotted the topic to a student Mohd Ashraf who will evaluate his work for his Ph.D degree informed Shohab Inayat Malik.
Shohab Inayat Malik further informed that Departmental affairs committee (DAC) has also taken decision to publish its half yearly Journal Tasasul as Fareed Parbati number.
In this connection Shohab Inayat Malik has appealed the followers of Fareed Parbati to write research papers on the art and personality of Fareed Parbati so that the special number of Tasasul be made a memorable one.
This would also be a great tribute to the poet who expired at a very young age and whose contribution fro the development of Urdu language and literature in the state of J&K could not be ignored.
