| No power in Jawahar Nagar from past three days | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI , December 20 : The life of people seem to have stopped in the Jawahar Nagar area of Rajouri because from past three days there is no power supply due to damage of the main power transformer.
As per reports, the power transformer located near the DIET complex got badly damaged two days back in Sunday late evening due to some technical fault. After the damage of this transformer, power supply to a major part of densely populated Jawahar nagar area got affected.
After examination on the spot, expertise of PDD decided to repair it in department workshop after which it was removed from there and sources said that repairing of this burnt transformer is going on and it could take one or two more days. But due to no power supply, locals are badly suffering particularly during night. Mobile phones are off due to empty batteries, inverters are just looking as a useless thing.
Businesses as well as shopkeepers are suffering too badly as they have to run their business in acute darkness. However locals said that they trust upon PDD and hope that today or tomorrow power supply in the area will be restored.
Some sources told ET that use of heaters, water boilers and water heating rods are causing excessive power load on machinery especially on such power transformers which seem to be a reason of damage to Jawahar Nagar transformer.
