| House gutted in Thathri | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kishtwar Dec 20:- First floor of a house turned into ashes when fire broke out in the residence of Abdul Rashid Kumar due to gas cylinder leakage. The house which was situated in the heart of Thatri town caught fire at around 1.30 PM on Tuesday after mustard oil pot kept on cooking gas for heating caught fire and engulfed the top floor of the residence within few minutes before anything could do. As soon as the news of fire reaches to police, the fire service department along with police rushes to the spot and control the fire from spreading. Luckily for the family of Abdul Rashid that one fire brigade was already positioned outside the venue of public rally by Minister for PHE, Flood control and Irrigation department at Thatri, as a result of which both police and fire service department rush quickly towards the spot and control the fire with the help of locals who assembled in large number. SSP Doda Mohammad Arif Rishu who were also present on spot supervise the whole operation, as a result of which the local people takes a sign of relief since the residential house is situated in one of the congested area of Thatri Tehsil. The timely action of the police and fire service department was hailed by the local people.
