Kathua observed complete bandh on BAR Association call

KATHUA , December 20 : A complete and successful shut down of Kathua was observed on the call given by the BAR Association Kathua in favour of the genuine demand of the association to revoke the Governments order of transferring the work of land from judiciary to revenue department.

All the government offices seemed remain in routine function but private school institutions, buses, and other means of transport along with shops were completely shut down all round the town in order to strengthen the protest of the BAR association.

On the occasion the district court was remain observed out of function and all the advocates staged protest by taking out the massive procession all round the Kathua town with chanting slogan against the Government and along with Sarv Dharam Sewa Samiti (SSDS) burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the front of court premises.

On the occasion Sarv Dharam Sewa Samiti (SSDS), BJP, BSP, Bajrang Dal, Beopar Mandal Kathua, Youth Movement, Panther Party, ABVP, SOIL, Truck Union Bus Operator Union, Matador Union, and Autriksha Union were also physically present. The advocates Arvind Gupta, Nidhi Suman, Subash Sharma, Rakesh Thakur, Ajat Shatru, Saurav Mahajan, and Dushyant lambasted on the state government for bringing the draconian and anti people order by transferring the power of land registration work from judiciary to revenue department which would be very dangerous for common man rather than we advocates.

They said that it is well known that every men is categorically being harassed by the revenue department even in minor work but when land registration work would be in the hands of this revenue department then nobody can assess the height of harassment and insecurity of the innocent common men because the Judiciary is the helping and protecting institution for the rights of the people but this new rule has hammered the people’s rights protecting institution.

They also warned the Government to face the dire consequences if the demands are not addressed and solved immediately and to intensify the movement the Kathua Bar Association will follow the all lines and directions of the Jammu BAR Association.
