| Farooq, Omar talking of supremacy of Indian Parliament, it's strange | | Anna Factor | | Neha
Jammu, Dec 20: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is unhappy with social activist Anna Hazare. His father and Union Minister Farooq Abdullah is unhappy with Anna as well. In fact, they are extremely angry with Anna, the symbol of the national mood and the national sentiment. Omar Abdullah is tweeting on daily basis to challenge Anna and his methodology. Farooq Abdullah is interacting with media persons on a daily basis outside the parliament to question Anna and his challenge to the Congress-led UPA.
Why are Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah unhappy and angry with Anna? The reason: Anna has brought the Congress-led UPA government to his knees; Anna has rattled the Congress leadership and rendered the UPA government confused, clueless and directionless; Anna's highly inspiring, highly appealing and highly appreciable crusade against corruption has upset the applecart of those involved in corruption from head to toe, all well-entrenched; Anna has been dictating terms and leaving the mortally afraid, demoralized, desperate and frustrated Congress-led UPA government with no other option but to keep awake in the night and try to come out with a lokpal bill that is acceptable to Anna, to the Team Anna and the fed-up Indians across the country; Anna has created an environment in the country that has rendered the Prime Minister and his colleagues and the Congress high command unreal and ineffective for all practical purposes; Anna's words are the god's words; Anna has inspired the people across the country to the extent that the latter are virtually challenging the supremacy of the parliament and the parliamentarians and telling the Prime Minister and others on their face that the people are the masters and those at the helm only their servants; Anna has led to the rise of a situation under which the people have started asserting and saying that the country's laws must be in the best interest of the people, in the best interest of the nation and in the best interest of the country and that those at the helm have to respect the people's sentiment; Anna has become the most important factor in the country's political and socio-economic situation; Anna has challenged the very authority of the Indian political leadership; Anna has brought off a sort of coup against the established and well-entrenched political class and bureaucracy; Anna has given an emotional and radical orientation to Indian nationalism; so on.
Both Farooq and Omar need to remember that things in the country are changing and changing very rapidly. Had the Indian political class behaved and served the cause of the people, of the nation and of the country to the best of its capacity and ability, there would have been no Anna. It is the corrupt, arrogant and insensitive section of the Indian political class that has led to the emergence of Anna on the country's political horizon. Anna has become a factor whatever Farooq, Omar and others of their ilk think of him; Anna has to be recognized and reckoned with. To ignore Anna factor would be only to invite the people's wrath. |
