PDP Kishtwar held protest against growing corruption in state. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kishtwar Dec 21:- like in other part of the state, Peoples Democratic Party held a strong protest against growing rate of corruption, nepotism, favoritism and lack of policies for unemployed youths of the state. The protest march of the PDP started from Dak Banglow Kishtwar under the leadership of MLC Syed Asgar Ali and after passing through Shaheedi road Kishtwar, the protestors assembled outside DC Office Kishtwar and blocked the main road for more than two hours. While addressing the protestor, Syed Asgar Ali lambasted the government for its failure to check the growing rate of corruption and termed the claims made by the local MLA in one of the state Urdu daily through paid advertisement. Syed Asgar Ali said that all the claims made by local National Conference MLA Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo are merely slogans on paper as nothing has been done on ground. He said that the claims of local MLA including sanctioning of Rs. 224 cr for construction of Kishtwar-Dachhan road is blunt lie and said that no money other than Rs. 2 cr was sanctioned out of the Chief Minister fund for the said road that too after he raise the issue in DDB meeting at Jammu chaired by honorable Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. He accuses the NC leadership off sabotaging the construction of Kishtwar-Dachhan road merely for personal gains by ragging the issue of wild life century. He said it was during the visit of former Forest Minister Qazi Mohammad Afzal, who gives forest clearance for this prestigious road project which is vital for construction of two power projects Pakal-Dool (1000 MW)and Budsar (1200 MW). Asgar Ali also flaws the claims of local MLA pertaining to sanctioning of Rs. 45 Cr for Naigard Water Cannel, 43 Cr. For water supply scheme and construction of power projects like rattle, Pakal-Dool, Budsar, Karthie, Kwar, ect and said that people in Kishtwar District know very well about the present status of these power project. He said that since last 15 years, the proposed construction of all those prestigious power projects, but nothing has been done so far expect allotting the tender for construction of 690 MW Rattle Power Project to GVK company. He said that due to negative politics by NC leadership in Kishtwar, class for polytechnic college could not be started despite the fact that same has been decided to be made operational inside the rental building which was offered by Adarsh Balnikeeten Kishtwar. Asgar Ali accuses the local MLA that it was due to his arrogance that despite lapse of more than 4 years, polytechnic college in Kishtwar District is yet to tick off. He said that the plan of prestigious Naigard Water Canal has yet to be approved by the central government and said that honorable Minister for PHE during his Kishtwar visit on Monday assured him that he will take up the matter with union government for according early sanction to Naigard Water Canal. Asgar Ali said that claims of sanctioning of Rs. 45 Cr. For Naigard Water Canal made by the MLA Kishtwar is a hollow slogan. He said that in case the people of Kishtwar wants to verify the claims made by MLA Kishtwar, they can seek the information from the government through RTI, that helps the people to know truth about the claims made by the local MLA. Asgar Ali also termed the Sher-e-Kashmir employment package as a failure and termed the recent employment policy of the government as anti unemployed youths. He demanded an immediate role back of employment policy announced by the state government recently. Asgar Ali also supports the demands made by the lawyers regarding transferring of land registration to executive Magistrates. He urged the government not to implement any such decision. The others who address the gathering includes, Farooq Ahmed Siddiqui, Suresh Sharma, Mehboob Shah, Kishore Lal and others.
