Samooh Theatre stages Dakghar to mark 150th anniversary of Tagore

Jammu Dec 21: Samooh Theatre today staged a Dogri play Dakghar at Abhinav Theatre as an activity of the series of programme of &day long festival to mark 150th anniversary of Nobel laurite Rabindra Nath Tagore which concluded here toady.
Written by Rabinder Nath Tagore and Dogri adaptation by Dr Sudhir Mahajan, the play was witnessed by large audience.
Farooq Nazki adviser to Chief Minister Jammu & Kashmir and renowned Urdu poet of national repute who was the chief guest while Savita Bakshi Additional Secretary J&K Academy Art Culture and Languages was the guest of honor.
Nazki in his address appreciated the presentation of the play and the acting skill of all the artists who portrayed the different role in the play.
The prominent artists who enacted in the play included AAditya Bharti , Avinash Lakhotra, Mukesh Bawa, Shubam Sharma, Vikram Khatri, Lucky Gupta ,Rahul Raina ,Harshita Jamwal ,Sahib Vaid ,AryanVaid ,Manik Shaarma, Vishal Sharma, Sandeep Thakur, Mridul Raj Anand and Rohit Chib while set was designed by Ifra Mushtaq Kak,
Earlier, Dr Kamal Sharma, Renowned artist of the state and president Samooh welcomed all the guests and the dignitaries present on the occasion while Dr Sudhir Mahajan presented vote of thanks
Meanwhile on the occasion of the concluding day of the Tagore anniversary prominent scholars read out technical papers included Darshan Darshi ( Gitanjali ek Parchiaya ), Satya Pal Shrivatsa (Ravinder Unda Upnayas, ‘Gora’ ek Jaiza ) , Mohan Singh ( Rabinder nath undi kavitain da dogri Roopantar ) , Vasuda ( Rabindernath uonde Natakan ch Samvadana ) , Mangal Dass Dogra ( Gitanjli ch Darshnika ) , Puran Chand Badgotra ( Rabindernath da Vayaktitatb ) and Mushtaq Kak ( Rabindernath de Natak te Rang Manch)
Besides this technical session, a musical play namely ‘ Manbanjan’ , directed by Datar was also shown on the projector
The said session was presided by N D Jamwal a Sahitya and Sangeet Natak Akademi award winner.
Dr Gian Singh , Chief editor Dogri , J&K Cultural Academy, also appreciated the work of all the scholars in a critical manners .
