| 15 playfields for Kokernag constituency sanctioned: Peerzada | | | Srinagar, JULY 31 - Fifteen playing fields would be developed in the Kokernag constituency. Rs. 17 lakh has been released in the first phase and the work for these grounds would be started soon. This was stated by the Minister for Youth services and Sports Peerzada Mohammad Sayed while addressing a function organized by the District Youth Services and Sports Office, Anantnag at Government Higher Secondary School, Kokernag today. The Minister said that government has introduced massive reforms to reorganize the Youth Service and Sports department, which has led to creation of about 3000 posts in various categories. He said that the reforms include introduction of sports facilities from the middle standard in all government Schools of the state. Peerzada Mohammad Sayed said that 500 Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers has been engaged in the constituency since the coalition government came in power adding that 73 new Anganwari centres would be established in the area soon. He further assured that a Degree College would be set up in Kokernag. Referring to the developmental works in the constituency, the Minister said that Rs. 2 crore has been sanctioned for the Kokernag Bridge and 3 crore would be spent by the development authority of the Kokernag for development of Tourism infrastructure. Later, the Minister distributed more than 100 sports kits among the Cricket Clubs of the Kokernag area. Among others, senior district officers of various departments, students, prominent citizens and District President Youth Pradesh Congress committee, Anantnag and General Secretary PCC Anantnag were present on the occasion. |
