| Slathia reviews performance of Industries and Commerce department | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, DECEMBER 21-Minister for Industries and Commerce Surjeet Singh Slathia on Wednesday reviewed achievements of Industries and Commerce department for the financial year 2010-11 and the current financial year 2011-12 at Udhyog Bhawan Jammu.
Commissioner Industries and Commerce Umang Narulla, Director Industries and Commerce B. S. Dua, Managing Director SICOP and SIDCO and all concerned senior officers of Industries and Commerce were present on the occasion.
The Minister was apprised about various achievements and functions carried by the department at present including registration of new units, Single Window Clearance of Micro and Small Units, implementation of Central and State Packages, and disbursement of incentives, Planning and Development of Industrial estates, Promotion of Industries, Implementation of Annual Plans of the State Government through two sectors namely village and Small Scale Industries (V&SSI) and large and medium (L&M) sectors. Implementation of Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), coordinating activities with MSME (GOI) SICOP and SIDCO, registration of societies under J&K Registration of Societies Act and Registration of Firms under J&K Partnership Act.
The Minister directed General Managers of Industries and Commerce, to clear all the pending cases for allotment of land regarding Industrial Units to be set up in their respective areas so that entrepreneurs could start their business units without facing any problem.
Earlier, the Minister also chaired the review meeting of Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK). He was apprised about various matters related to procurement of material and other issues were also discussed.
The Minister assured the federation full support for its revival.
He also assured them the matter will again discuss with the Chief Minister.
