| JMC intensifies drive against encroachment | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu,Dec 21: Intensifying drive to clear the footpaths / pavements and parts of road sides etc from encroachments, the Enforcement Staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) led by the Chief Enforcement Officer conducted an extensive anti- encroachment drive in Gandhi Nagar Area.
During the drive the team removed / demolished the pacca platforms raised by the shopkeepers by encroaching upon the part of roads sides at Auqaf Market, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Besides this, 7 number of truck loads of materials / goods / articles like Counters, Tables, Cylinders, Jacks, Stands, Dustbins, Drums, Buckets, Stools, Chairs, Bhatties, Utensiles etc. placed by the shopkeepers / vendors by encroaching upon footpaths/ pavements and part of road sides etc alongwith sizable no of Reharies found stationary / plying without license causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and also creating obstruction in the free movement of vehicular traffic were seized.
The team also demolished / removed about 15 no’s of encroachments raised in the shape of counters, tandoors, platforms fixed by encroaching upon footpaths / pavements and part of raod sides. The said anti encroachment drive has been conducted with the help and co-ordination of Police Force from Gandhi Nagar, Police Station, Jammu.
The drive was conducted under instructions from JMC Commissioner SC Sawhney.
