| Jan inaugurates Solar Power Plant | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
PoonchDec. 22, 2011 MLA Poonch Ajaz Ahmed Jan inaugurated 9.75 KW Capacity Solar Power Plant costing Rs. 20 Lac installed in District Hospital Poonch, here today. By inauguration of this plant 24 hours power supply is ensured in Hospital of this border district. Representatives of Science & Technology Department Mr. Ravi Kumar said that Department is actively considering to install another 15 KW Capacity Solar Energy Power Plant to strengthen power supply requirement of the hospital which functions round the clock in this district.
Addressing the function organized on the occasion MLA said that Govt. has accorded priority to health sector also and as part of such policy District Hospitals of each District are being equipped with latest medical facilities and technologies. He thanked Union Minister of New & Renewable energy Dr. Farooq Abdullah who favoured in sanction and installation of the plant in the district hospital Poonch. At the same time he appreciated favourable attitude of State Health Minister & Ministry of Science and Technology for co-ordination to resolve burning need of district hospital.
Jan said measures are underway to install as many as 1000 Solar Lights of General Category in un-electrified area/villages of Poonch in near future. He announced sanction of Rs. 2 lacs out of his Constituency Dev. Fund (CDF) for purchase and installation of “Multi- Channel Cardiac Monitor” machine which is beneficial and used in Operation Theater of the Hospital. Responding to the demand projected by Medical Superintendent of the Hospital. Jan also reviewed pace of construction work being executed over construction of Causality Block progressing at a cost of Rs. 4.50 crores. Said block would be equipped with latest machinery and other facilities.
