JMC continues anti-encroachment drive | | | Early Times Report JAMMU , December 22: Under instructions from S C Sawhney Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu, the enforcement Staff led by the Chief Enforcement officer while further continuing and intensifying the drive to clear the footpaths / pavements and parts of road sides etc from encroachments, conducted an anti encroachment drive in the areas of below Gummat, Vinayak Bazar, Jewel, Canal Road, Ranbir Market etc. During the drive 4 truck loads of materials / goods / articles like repairable two wheelers, chips grinding machine, electrical items, gas bhatties, blankets, garments, bundles of PVC pipes, weighing scales, loud speakers, microphone stands, counters, wooden platforms, vegetables, fruits etc placed by the shopkeepers / vendors by encroaching upon footpaths / pavements and part of road sides etc alongwith sizable number of Reharies found stationary / plying without license causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and also creating obstruction in the free movement of vehicular traffic were seized. The team also demolished / removed about 5 encroachments raised upon footpaths / pavements and part of raod sides. The said anti encroachment drive has been conducted with the help and co-ordination of Police Force from Nawabad, Police Station and Police Force from District Police Lines, Jammu.
