| Power supply of Jawahar Nagar restored after 5 days | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU , December 22 : Power supply to a major portion of Jawahar Nagar area of Rajouri township has finally been restored after five days.
It is pertinent to mention that on Sunday evening at about 07:15 pm, the main 630 KVA transformer located near DIET complex got technically damaged. After inspection, PDD experts decided to repair it in department workshop after which it was replaced from the spot. A special mechanical team of PDD worked for repair and it took 4 full days.
In these four days, locals of Jawahar Nagar area suffered badly and many other facilities as household water supply, cable network etc got affected , although workers of PHE and Cable network didn't let people to suffer much on their behalf.
Demanding immediate restoration of power, locals and beopar mandal of Jawahar Nagar jammed the traffic on main road and hold a massive protest. Later on police official from P S Rajouri SI NS Chib reached on spot along with PDD AEE of the area.
After the vocal assurance from PDD of power restoration till evening 7 pm, the protest was called off.
Finally at about 5 pm, a truck carrying repaired transformer reached the spot and after an hectic effort of about an hour, with the help of JCB and about 15 PDD workers, the transformer was planted on the spot.
