| Petitioner’s present status shall not be disturbed, HC directs | | Hostel Warden seeks regularization | | Jammu, Jan 12 Vacation Judge of J&K High Court Jammu wing Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain, in a writ petition filed by hostel warden of Government College for Women Parade through Adv Abhinav Sharma, issued notice to State returnable within four weeks and directed that the present status of the petitioner shall not be disturbed till next hearing and subject to the objections by the other side. The petitioner, who was initially appointed in May 1996 on stopgap arrangement on a consolidated salary of Rs 2000/- PM. was discharging her duties uninterruptedly and without any break seeking regularization. After hearing Advocate Abhinav Sharma appearing for the petitioner, Justice Hussain issued notice to state through Commissioner/Secretary to Government Higher Education, Director Higher Education/Colleges J&K and Principal Government College for Women Parade ground Jammu returnable within four weeks. In the meanwhile, subject to the objections by the other side and till next date of hearing, the present status of the petitioner shall not be disturbed, the Court ordered. The petitioner Meena Sharma in her petition has stated that she has been working for the last more than 10 years continuously, uninterruptedly and without any break and had filed several petitions seeking regularization. In one such petition, the High Court directed the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for regularization of her service as Hostel Warden but till date the respondents have not decided the same. The petitioner has become overage thereby she has rendered herself to be ineligible to apply and secure a Government job elsewhere and sought directions to the respondents for regularization of her service and release the pay scale attached to post of Hostel Warden.
