Transfer of 7 revenue officials of Udhampur raises storm | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 22: A day after being transferred from Udhampur, Deputy Commission (DC) Srinagar Baseer Ahmed Khan in breach of administrative discipline ordered transfer of seven revenue officials. Cabinet ordered transfer of Baseer Khan from Udhampur on December 16, 2011. Sources said that immediately after coming to know about his transfer, Khan transferred seven Patwaris. They added that the order for transfer of these seven Patwaris was issued on December 17, 2011 i.e. a day after Khan was transferred. The seven Patwaris transferred include Dinesh, Arshad, Ghulam Mohammed, Yash Kumar, Subhash Chand, Tilak Raj and Lochan Singh. Dinesh has been given the charge of Karlah; Arshad has been transferred to Udhampur, Ghulam Mohammed to Kallar, Yash Kumar to Ballian, Subhash Chand to Barian, Tilak Raj Attri to Krimchi and Locxhan Singh to Kashra Patwar. Sources said that of these seven, Ghulam Mohammed has been transferred and given the charge of Kallar Panchayat despite the fact that he was yet to complete two year tenure at his previous place of posting. They added that Khan has already intimated the revenue department in the civil secretariat about the transfers and justified them by saying that the transfers were over-due and were done on the directions of higher-ups. Sources further said that the entire administrative set-up is unable to understand urgency of these transfers especially when Khan had already completed his tenure. Administrative sources said that Khan should not have transferred revenue officials after having been transferred. They assert that the transfers have raised questions over the conduct of the Deputy Commissioner (DC). |
