Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 24: Eyeing on the seven assembly seats of BJP, Congress has launched a campaign in these constituencies. The Party which is demanding bye elections for these seven seats have also appealed the Speaker to go through the rule.
The PCC chief Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz has also given indications to this effect recently in a prèss -conference here asking the Speaker to go through the rules as the seven BJP MLAs disqualified by the Party for cross voting deserve to be unseated.
The party which is the alliance partner of National Conference (NC) is determined to get the seven MLAs unseated so that bye elections are held in the state. This has been the main reason that the Party has launched an intensive campaign in these constituencies.
The PCC chief and former Union Minister, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz who is presently camping in Jammu today addressed a mammoth public rally at Barnai failing in Raipur Damana Constituency represented by expelled BJP MLA Bharat Bhushan alias Bodhi. The main objective of holding the rally in the Constituency by Congress to show its strength. Though the rally was organized by PCC Labour Cell led by Hari Singh Chib but the party had managed to organize a grand rally in the Constituency which voted BJP candidate to power in 2008 elections.
The BJP which after expulsion of seven MLAs had failed to keep its house in order as tussle for supremacy and leadership still continues among the leadership has given ample opportunity to its rivals to make in roads in the BJP bastions in Jammu region, sources said.
Sources said BJP which has failed to put its house in order and overcome the crisis facing the Party has nothing to offer to masses now as the Party is so entangled by internal crisis that it has completely failed to take on the Congress which is the coalition partner of NC on the non performance front.
The BJP leaders in the state could not rake up the issues like rising corruption, price rise, vote for cash scam and refugees issues has kept the ground open for Congress to spread itself in Jammu region. Keeping the weaknesses of BJP and bickering in Party in mind the Congress is concentrating on bye elections of the seven seats to mange its victory so that the Party can show its supremacy and dictate terms to NC as victory on these assembly seats will increase the seat tally of Congress than NC in Assembly.
Prof Soz besides Raipur Damana was scheduled to address a rally at RS Pura another seat which was won by BJP in last elections. But due to internal crisis in party Prof Soz canceleld his vist to RS Pura and rally was addressed by other senior leaders of the Party.
Congress sources said that Prof Soz will address the public rallies in all the seven constituencies during next two months to garner support for Party.
