| Three houses gutted into fire at Samba | | |

Samba, Dec 25: In an incident of accidental fire in Village Panchtilla, Samba, three houses were gutted and razed to ground.
The houses damaged in fire belong to Bansi Lal son of Shanker Dass, Buta Ram son of Shankar Dass, Hans Raj son of Punnu Ram were completely destroyed. Soon after getting the intimation, the District Administration rushed the fire tender to the spot to control the fire, but the houses were located in interior of the village and fire tender took some time to reach the spot.
Simultaneously, the assistance from nearby BSF unit and vehicle with water was also pressed into service.
The timely action of District Administration and the help from local youth as well as BSF personnel, the precious lives of all the three families were saved.
They were given shelter for the night but their belongings and households could not be saved because of furious fire and the location of houses.
The District Administration has also provided free ration, tent and blankets, besides Rs 2000 to each family as immediate relief.
