Day after NC worker's killing, security review meeting held | | | Early times Report Srinagar, Dec 25: A day after the killing of National Conference worker in Batamaloo area here, Minister of State for Home Nasir Aslam Wani was briefed by IGP Kashmir, S M Sahai and SSP City Ashiq Bukhari about the incident, sources told. They said the recent attacks on NC workers and Rural Development Minister, Ali Mohammad Sagar was discussed threadbare in the meeting. Wani said that some initial leads have been received by the security forces in the recent attacks. However, he declined to give the further information. "It could hamper the investigation process," Wani told. Wani said that they were tracking all these incidents." We are monitoring the situation and soon we will achieve a breakthrough," he added. Asked why the attacks are being only carried against NC workers in the city, he said, "There is majority for NC in the city so it is obvious that NC workers are targeted." The MoS Home said that there was no need to panic and scare. "We will strengthen security grid and ensure that city in particular and entire valley is kept without any such incidents," he added. Wani said that militancy was at its lowest ebb. "But it (militancy) hasn't ended as yet," he added.
