| Dy CM conducts thorough tour of Srinagar city | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 26:- Sustained development work for restoring the glory of world famous Dal Lake has started yielding positive results. Immediately after his arrival from Jammu Mr, Tara Chand, conducted a tour to various parts of the city. He also inspected various ongoing developmental projects in Dal Lake.
He was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner, Dr. Asgar Samoon, Director Information and Public Relations, Khawja Farooq Renzushah, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Sheikh Mushtaq, senior officers of LAWDA, Superintending Engineers and other senior officers of the administration.
The Dy. Chief Minister inspected the interiors of the Dal Lake for almost an hour. Mr. Tara Chand directed the concerned authority to extract the weed from the interiors of the lake on war footing basis.
He instructed for completion of pavements and parapet walls around the Dal Lake including north foreshore road. He physically inspected ongoing beautification work on the canal from north foreshore road to Ishber. He also advised completion of beautification work around Nishat and Shalimar gardens.
While appreciating the efforts of LAWDA to increase the dimension of the water body ,the Deputy Chief Minister stressed that cleanness of the water body should be maintained. He also instructed on-the- spot to concerned officers to take the water sample from different spots and get it tested through reputed testing laboratories so that the reduction of pollution level in different portions of water body is properly assessed.
