| Tributes paid to Saheed Udham Singh | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU , December 26 : J&K Freedom Fighter celebrated 112th birthday of Shaheed Sardar Udham Singh among the children of rotary inner wheel home for mentally retarded children at Channi Rama, Jammu led by its president Ved Gandotra and Pritam Sharma
On the occasion , Surinder Singh Shingari runner up Jammu west assembly seat in 2008 was the chief guest, Bachan Lal, senior tax assistant posted in the customs and central excise commissioner , J&K has been awarded, presidential award of appreciation certificate for the year 2010 for rendering special distinguished record of service by the president of India. By his sheer hard work and dedication to duty, he has been instrumental in effecting seizures of gold / narcotics and other contraband goods of value more than rupees 13cr and also earned cash rewards in 34 cases till date was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion , Surinder Singh Shingari said that Sardar Udham Singh born was a great patriot who laid down his life for freedom of his mother land.
Freedom Fighter also distributed 30 warm jackets, fruit and sweets among the mentally disordered children . Ved Gandotra said that this was a small gift for this children so that they never feel alone in the society and we will also celebrate Lohri festival with these children .
