Administrative inspection of Central Jail Jammu concludes | | | EAELY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, DECEMBER 26- The administrative inspection of Central Jail Kotbhalwal, Jammu was carried out by a team of officers headed by Director General of Prisons, Mr. Navin Agarwal. During the course of inspection, a large number of issues pertaining to prison administration were examined. The team have laid the Emphasis on introduction of reformatory measures along with rehabilitation schemes in the jail for inmates beside to impart skilled training to the inmates on vocational basis. The team also inspected the construction work of conference hall of the jail. On inspection of barracks and the hospital block, it was felt that there is need for some urgent repairs. During the inspection, Deputy Commandant of CRPF asked the team that there is urgent need for fitting of glasses to the security tower windows for which necessary instructions have been issued on the spot. An open darbar was also held on this occasion for the jail staff. Addressing the darbar, Director General of Prisons, Navin Agarwal, stated that the prisoners are mostly victims of circumstances and they need a humane treatment. He said that the under trials should not be treated as criminals until the cases against them have been proved in the courts of law. He impressed on the jail staff to exercise vigil, alertness and maintain discipline in the jail so that no mishap could takes place. Officers accompanying Director General of Prisons during the inspection include DIG Prisons, Dr. M.S. Lone, Staff Officer, Javid Masood Fazili, Superintendent Central Jail Jammu, Rajni Sehgal Virender Razdan, Technical Officer, Sanjay Kumar, Chief Accounts Officer and Assistant Commandant CRPF 72 Bn.
