Cong unhappy with 'unilateralism' attitude of NC ministers | Amid political uncertainty CM arrives today | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 26: Amid a messy political scenario and political uncertainty ailing the ruling NC-Congress coalition, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah after enjoying a brief sojourn in UK is arriving back to J&K tomorrow. Chief Minister will resume the work albeit on a note when the alliance partner Congress has started asserting on key matters and crucial issues, setting right and putting things back on rails as its top priority . Sources said even as the NC second line leadership in absence of Chief Minister during the past few days has been trying to fill in the vacuum which has been fuelled further by the speculations of change of guard floating with much spice in the air, the ruling party has been feeling quite uncomfortable and disturbed particularly by the voices getting louder by the day over rotational Chief Minister issue. NC leaders are trying to play it down and also dismissing the rumours of distances having been widened with Congress over a host of issues by saying that coalition stands united and strong on ideological basis, sources said, adding that this assertion has come today by a senior leader after political uncertainty gripped the coalition for the last two days , particularly in the backdrop of some visible movement in Congress factions. Sources also said that some Congress leaders have taken strong exception to the 'bossy' and dominating attitude of NC ministers in taking unilateral decisions in organizing tours and trips to various districts for inaugural ceremonies of development projects or laying foundation for new such projects. It was only two days back NC's senior leader and Rural Development Minister along with a junior minister organized a tour to Rajouri district without taking any Congress minister into confidence nor informing the local leaders of the Congress , some of them in Legislature. Sources said the Congress leaders have taken strong note of the manner NC ministers are going on the official tours and trip without caring to inform or take on board the ministers from the alliance party. Congress leaders and ministers look at it grabbing and dominating attitude on the lines of 'be first' to catch and seize the opportunities which NC ministers are doing simply to consolidate the political base in the areas they visit, sources said adding that Congress has also conveyed its displeasure in NC ministers going ahead with inaugural spree on the works on which foundations have been laid by the Congress leaders. While the fresh instance of NC 'unilateralism' in matters of governance has been conveyed to the leadership, the Congress leaders have desired this be strictly taken up in the ensuing Coordination Committee meeting by the J&K PCC chief Prof Saif-u-Din Soz and other members from the party, sources said. The NC has to be conveyed in clear terms that Congress can not be allowed to be always sit in the back row , instead it has to be consulted and taken on board in every matter ,be it the official tours for development works, sources said further adding Congress would like NC to work in unison in the literal sense, it being equal alliance partner in the coalition. |
