HSS Harnai wins Poonch kabaddi title | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 26: Higher Secondary School (HSS) Harnai lifted both boys and girls titles in the district kabaddi championship, organized by Poonch District Kabaddi Association at Harni in Poonch. In all, 10 teams in boys and eight in girls section took part in this two-day meet. In girls’ title clash, HSS Harnai defeated Friend Club Harnia. In the finals and prize distribution function, Principal of HSS Harni, Wasim Khan and Sarpanch Harni were special guests, who gave away winners and runners up trophies as also other individual prizes.
Page 9 WITH PIX Amritsar Club wins by 92 runs in Martyrs T20 KATHUA, Dec 26: Sports Club Amritsar today registered a big 90 runs win over Bitni Cricket Club (BCC) to move into the next round of the ongoing J&K Police Martyr’s Memorial North Zone Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship at Sports Stadium, here. Batting first after winning the toss, Amritsar Club set a big target of 184 runs, which, in reply, BCC Pathankot could not chase and the whole side bowled out for 92 runs in 18.2 overs. Avinash Sharma was the top scorer with 59 runs in just 43 balls and also claimed two wickets from winners Amritsar Club. For his all round performance, Avnish Sharma was declared man of the match. He was presented a cash prize of Rs 1000 by special guest, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kathua, Daljit Singh. Today’s match was officiated by Jaipal Singh and Ram Lubhaya as umpires.
