| Jmu-Pathankot Highway blocked after scuffle between JE and Locals | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 27: Routine traffic movement remained affected on National Highway near Rajbagh, Kathua, for some time due to protest demonstration by the locals following the arrest of some youth by police here in the late hours today.
Sources said that the incident occurred when two motorcycle borne youth reached at the Feeder Station (Power Department) with the complaint that their area-Channi had power supply snag for the long time and sought reason from Junior Engineer (JE) Rajneesh Sharma.
After heated verbal dual the situation took ugly turn when the two sides entered into a scuffle during which JE- PDD received injuries while the alleged accused youth flee from the spot. They were later arrested by Rajbagh police on the complaint of the JE, sources said.
After the arrest of the youth, people of the Channi in a protest against PDD blocked National Highway. The vehicular movement was cleared only after the intervention of the senior police officers who rushed to the spot. |
