| Erect barricades, restrict traffic to Raghunath Bazar: HC | | Govt directed to find alternative site for Chamb-Rajouri Bus-Stand within 4 weeks | | Jammu, Jan 13, In the much publicized regulation of traffic in the state, a Division Bench of J&K High Court Jammu wing comprising Chief Justice B A Khan and Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir directed Minister for Urban Development and Principal Secretary to look into the matter of finding an alternative site for Jammu-Chamb-Rajouri and to ask all concerned authorities/functionaries either to identify an alternate site to be handed over to VC JDA within four weeks from receipt of this order, failing which the VC JDA shall be at liberty to proceed with his original plan of constructing this Bus-Stand at Paloura and restrained all authorities from interfering in his doing so. DB further directed Chief Engineer PWD, DIG Traffic, SSP Traffic Jammu, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu and any other concerned authorities to prepare a simultaneous plan meanwhile to stop entry of all types of vehicles into Ragunath Bazaar from Residency Road, City Chowk, Hari Market and Gurudwara Sunder Singh Road as now the parking area at Van-Bhawan was to be completed by January 15, 2007. DB further said that any plan prepared by these authorities shall take in regard the public convenience, the moment of traffic in the surrounding effected areas and Chief Engineer PWD is further directed to raise suitable barricades at identified places to enforce this ban on the entry of vehicles in Ragunath Bazaar Area which shall effected from February 1, 2007. Regarding construction of interstate bus-stand at Birpur, the Division Bench directed Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and Deputy Commissioner, Jammu to take steps for handing over land within one month from receipt pf this order subject to satisfying of any rules and regulations, if any involved. DB further directed them to make requisite record available to controller of JDA for some acquisition process for which whole acquisition process has been held up resulting in delay incompletion of some projects undertaken by the JDA under the orders of this Court. |
