Delhi blast accused, associate killed in Marwah clash | | | Asif Iqbal Naik KISHTWAR, Dec 27: One of the accused in Delhi High Court blast case was killed along with his associate in a group clash in Marwah area of Kishtwar district. However, the police maintained silence over the incident. A powerful device went off on September 7 at New Delhi High Court killing 16 persons and injuring 80 others. According to the reports, Junaid Akram Malik and his associate Shamsher Kanna got killed in a group clash with their own men at Marwah. Shamsher Kanna was an active Jesh militant arrested by the Jammu police from Narwal area in the year 2005. Dr Waseem Malik was also arrested with Kanna, but was later released by the police allegedly after a money deal. Kanna was presently out on bail after remaining in jail for more than four years. He was detained by Kishtwar police along with National Investigating Agency (NIA) probing Delhi High Court blast for sustained questioning to ascertain the links of Dr Waseem Malik with militants. Kanna was later set free by the NIA after recording his statement. The reports further said that after reaching his home in Marwah, Kanna was approached by the group of HM militants led by Mohammad Amin Butt@Jahangir Saroori to inquire about his questioning by NIA team, but was reportedly detained by the them. The reports further said that while remaining under the detention of HM militants, Shamsher Kanna come into contact with Junaid Akram Malik and informed him about the plight of his family. The reports said that after listening his woeful tale, Malik with the help of Kanna managed to give slip to his armed associates, but were later trapped and killed. A police official said information about the killing had been received. However, police are not in a position to confirm the incident as communication was not possible in the far flung area. We are verifying the reports about the killing of Junaid Akram Malik and his associate Shamsher Kanna, but as of now we are not in a position to say anything since no bodies have been recovered so far?, he said. Meanwhile intelligence sources confirmed reports about the incident. The intelligence sources, however, have no information about Junaid's movement for the past few days. The sources said that a group led by another Delhi blast accused Rizwan comprising Amir Kamal, Bilal Ahmed had been seen in and around Hounzar area of Dachhan. Junaid Akram Malik whose brother Dr Waseem Akram Malik pursuing a medical degree in Bangladesh in presently lodged in Tihar Jail while Amir Abbas Dev and teenager Abid Hussain Bhawani are lodged in child welfare center. He has been accused of sending an email to various media houses claiming responsibility of the blast. National Investigating Agency (NIA) in the month of October announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lacs each on Junaid Akram Malik, Amir Kamal and Rizwan for their involvement in Delhi High Court blast. Meanwhile the security forces in Marwah and Dachhan area of the Kishtwar District have launched a fresh search operation against the militants involved in Delhi High Court blast. Senior officers of 11 RR and Kishtwar police are already stationed in Marwah to oversees the operation against the group of militants involved in Delhi High Court blast. As already reported, during his 106 day investigation by NIA, overall 11 peoples were found involved in hatching the conspiracy of Delhi High Court blast including 5 Bangladeshi nationals. |
