15 government employees suspended in Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 28:Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered suspension of 15 government employees who were found absent from duty in the Kashmir valley, where officials remained absent after the darbar move, seat of the government shifts to winter capital, Jammu.

More than 200 government employees, including doctors and senior officers, were suspended in the Kashmir valley, including Anantnag and Ganderbal during the past one month for remaining absent from duty without any prior permission.

Officials today said that during a surprise visit by a squad to different officials in Srinagar on December 23, 15 employees were found absent.

Later, the squad recommended that action should be taken against these officials, including two junior assistants, three senior assistants and six class IV employees of different departments.

They said Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, acting on the report, ordered suspension of these officials for unauthorised absence from duty on December 23
