| Father of 3 elopes with girl | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kishtwar Dec 30:- Kishtwar police arrested 30 year old Mohammad Yaseen Butt son of Ali Mohammad Butt resident of Bhadat Saroor in Kishtwar District. Mohammad Yaseen, the father of three kids ran away with 22- year- old Afia Banoo daughter of Salam Din Naik also resident of Bhadat Saroor on Wednesday. Afia was scheduled to get married Thursday.
Dy SP Headquarter Kishtwar Abrar Ahmed Chowdhary said that acting on the information received from the family members of Afia Banoo that she (Afia) was kidnapped by one Mohammad Yassen Butt from his residence when her family members were busy in arrangements for her marriage.
A case FIR No: 351 U/S 366/343/109 RPC was registered at police station Kishtwar. subsequently police team headed by Sub Inspector Mohammad Sharief in charge Police Post Dhrabshala was constituted to trace out the kidnapped girl. After series of raids at several places, the police managed to arrest the accused from Chilli Bhunzwah and recovered the kidnapped girl.
Police later handed over custody of Afia Banoo to his family members after completion of all legal formalities. During the course of investigation, it was found that Afia ran away with the accused , since she did not want to get married against her will. She was reportedly in love with the accused from last few years.
The accused told the police that Afia threatened him with committing suicide in case he (Yaseen) did not run away with him. Whole operation was supervised by Dy. SP Headquarter Kishtwar Abrar Ahmed Chowdhary.
