| Far Flung Area Association alleges ‘illegal deforestation’ by forest officials | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu Dec 30J&K Far Flung Area association held strong protest demonstration in front of the Press Club Jammu against the high handiness of the Forest Department to shelter the Forest Department officials, Forest Divisions Bilawar & Ram Nagar, Rural developments Department Block Dudu Basant Garh and Private contractors who are responsible for illegally felling green trees in the name of so called construction of roads in the forest area without any forest clearance illegally.
Association raised slogans against the corrupt officers of Forest and Rural Departments responsible for damaging the forests and including the Principle Chief conservator of forests R D Tiwari IFS for sheltering the offenders and plunders of the forest property despite the clear directions of the Forest Minister reading as ‘send some senior officers from Jammu to verify the complaint on priority" on 1-4-2011 in response to the Association's representation about the huge damage of the green trees in the said Forest Divisions." .
Association State President M S Thakur expressed concern over the defiant and non compliant role of the Principle Chief conservator of forests (PCCF) RD, Tiwari to ensure the compliance of the direction of the Forest Minister and charged the latter for misusing of the powers under Forest Conservation Act (F.C.A,). for according post facto approval of forest clearance of a controversial road from Motto to Garh Samna Banj thus instead accessing the damage already caused on the alignment of road, the illegal damage has been legalized by him despite apprising him timely of the same,
