BSF Jawan Injured in cross border firing in samba sector | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 30: Yet in another incident of ceasefire violation Pakistani troops today evening targeted the forward border post at International Border (IB) in Samba sector injuring one BSF jawan and killing one horse of the horse mount patrol party. According to reports, the firing from the Pakistani post Lehri Kalan started around 5.20 pm and continued intermittently for over four hours. One BSF jawan identified namely as Rakesh Kumar, s/o Hoshiyar Singh from Gursdapur was injured in the firing incident who was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu. Official sources said the BSF would lodge a formal protest with their Pakistani counterparts after assessing the ground situation. Several senior officers from Jammu frontier also rushed to the spot to review the situation. BSF official also said that protest would be lodged tomorrow with the counter parts at a flag meeting on International Border Pertinent to mention that Pakistan has resorted to unprovoked firing at Indian posts along the Line of Control and International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir violating the ceasefire that has been continuing between the two countries since 2003 when two confronting nations jointly declared ceasefire along their borders in Nov 2003.
