Man axed to death by son at Chenani | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 30: A man was axed to death by his son at their residence at Ladda, a remote village in Chenani area of Udhampur, late Thursday night. Biru (18) had a verbal duel with father Raju (40), son of Jagtu of Ladda, at their residence late last night, police sources said. In a fit of anger, Biru later attacked Raju on the head and legs with an axe. He allegedly hacked at him till he died, the sources added. The boy was a school dropout and had no work to do. When he came home last night, he was drunk. Sources said when his father reprimanded him and asked him to do some work, he allegedly axed him to death. Cops of Chenani police station reached Ladda this afternoon and took the body in their custody. After completing legal formalities, they removed it to sub-district hospital, Chenani, where post-mortem was conducted on it. Later, it was handed over to his family members for last rites. He was a labour by profession. Biru had gone underground and was yet to be arrested by police. Sources said a hunt was on to apprehend him.
