| Jora inspects Pampore Grid Station | | | Srinagar, Jan 13
Minister for Power Development department Mr. Niwang Rigzin Jora alongwith a team of engineers inspected 220 KV and 132 KV Pampore Grid Stations here today.
Commissioned in 2003, the Grid Station is first of its kind in the state the 450 MW capacity Grid Station receives power from Kishen-Pora and Wagoora. The Minister was told that Grid Station supplies power to Anantnag and Pulwama districts while Srinagar is also being provided 50 percent of power from the grid station.
On this occasion, Mr. Jora stressed upon the officers to put in their best to curb the menace of power pilferage.
The Minister said that government is trying its best to streamline the power supply in the state. Mr. Jora said that people should co-operate with the government in metering the residential houses and business establishments as this alone can ensure round the clock power supply. He directed the concerned authorities to take stringent action against the power pilfers.
Chief Engineer, power Development department, Mr. Nisar Ahmad, Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineer Electrical maintenance, Srinagar were also present on the occasion.
