| Road Safety Week commences at Udhampur | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 01-In order to aware the public in general and driver fraternity in particular about the traffic rules and regulations, a week long Road Safety Week at Udhampur District commences today. The theme of this year’s Road Safety Week is “Accidents Brings Tears, Safety Brings Cheers”. The awareness week is being organized by the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Udhampur in collaboration with Traffic Department.
The Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Udhampur, S. Swran Singh said that a week-long programme has been chalked out to disseminate awareness among the masses about road safety which include rallies, interaction with drivers, conductors and passengers as well as private commuters, medical camp, demonstration programmes especially for truck drivers at National Highway. He said that efforts would be made through message and slogans by students, NSS, NCC and Civil Defence Volunteers so that the safe driving is ensured in the district.
Among others, Chairman Shivalik College of Education, Dr. Vikram Gulati, Inspector, MVD, S. Gurmeet Singh, District Traffic Inspector, Rajesh Chander, staff member of MVD and students were participated in the pragramme
