JAMMU, Jan 1: Rajouri thrashed Pogal Banihal by a huge margin of 82 runs in the inaugural match of the Reasi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, which got underway at Sports Stadium Reasi, today.
Batting first, Rajouri XI scored a mammoth total of 175 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Ankush Sharma, Waseem Raja and Farid contributed 39, 38 and 36 runs to the total respectively. Balwan took 2 wickets for Pogal Banihal.
Pogal, in reply, bundled out for a paltry total of 93 runs in 15 overs, thus lost the match by 82 runs. Karamjeet was the top scorer with 24 runs, while Kawal and Tushar chipped in with 14 and 13 runs respectively. Ankush Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief for Rajouri, who took 7 wickets in 3 overs by giving away just 11 runs. He bowled with a nagging line and teasing length. For his extraordinary performance, Ankush Sharma of Rajouri XI was adjudged man of the match.
The tournament is being organised by Reasi Cricket Club, under the supervision of Nadeem, Vikas Sharma and Vikas Baru.
