| One lakh fine recovered | | | Srinagar, Jan 13 After a weeklong campaign to sensitize pedestrians and motorists regarding traffic safety, Traffic Police Kashmir, during last four days, has booked 1005 violators and fine to the tune of Rs. 100650/- was realized from them. This includes 194 for not wearing crash helmet, 163 for not wearing seat belts, 64 for unauthorized parking, 67 for dangerous driving and 22 for not possessing pollution under control certificates. Besides, 76 vehicles were challaned for overloading/roof topping. 43 vehicles were also seized during the period. Motorists are requested to strictly adhere to the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act.
