| J&K Bank promotes 768 officers | | First working day 2012 | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Jan. 2: On the very first working day of the New Year, J&K Bank today promoted 768 officers from scale I to II.
The promotion of Associative Executives (Scale I) to Executive Grade (Scale II) is part of a series of measures aimed at succession planning through career progression.
Commenting on these Chairman and CEO, Mushtaq Ahmad said, “On the first working day of the calendar year 2012, it is a matter of great satisfaction for me to clear the promotion list of Associate Executives (from Scale I to Scale II).”
The promotions, he said, must be seen as one of the steps towards streamlining the HR in terms of individual career development on the one hand and to gear up for a pro-active organizational role in the emerging competitive environment in the banking sector of state, on the other.
The chairman while hailing the dedication and commitment of the staff said, “Banks are witnessing cut throat competition and the days ahead shall be challenging. All of us shall have to gear up and be proactive to face the increasing challenges. He urged the staff of the bank to rise to the occasion and put in strenuous efforts in order to realise the goal of making the Bank one of the best institutions in the country. I am sure we have the capacity and we have the capability to translate vision into a reality.”
It is worth mentioning that in the recent past the Bank has witnessed all round improvement and efficient growth in its operational spheres. This has been possible due to the sheer dedication and hard work put in by employees at all levels. Recognizing the performance, the bank has been conferred prestigious awards.
Meanwhile, the officers have thanked the Chairman for both the timing and the tenor of the promotions.
