Dy CM pays obeisance at Shiv Khori shrine Interacts with pilgrims, locals | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 2: Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, on first day of the New Year visited Shiv Khori and paid obeisance at the holy shrine. Describing the place as one of the most revered cave shrines of the region, Tara Chand said all out efforts are afoot to develop and promote the religious place as a major pilgrim destination of the State. He said Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB) has launched various projects to create and upgrade facilities for the benefit of visiting devotees. While interacting with the visiting devotees, the Deputy Chief Minister wished them a prosperous happy new year and asked them to be messengers of peace for the state. He said the number of pilgrims to the shrine has already crossed fifteen lacks and is expected to touch new heights in the coming year, adding that the Shrine Board is actively involved in upgrading facilities for the devotees arriving here. Among others, the Deputy Chief Minister was accompanied by Former Minister Jugal Kishore Sharma, SSP, Reasi Atul Goyal and Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) S.S. Sambyal . Later, a Non-Governmental Organisation “Shiv Mandli” led by its President K.K. Padha and Vice-President Surinder Sharma called on the Deputy Chief Minister and apprised about activities of the NGO. The NGO is running a langar for the last more than forty years. Listening to the demands projected by the NGO for an alternate site of the Langar complex, Tara Chand instructed the ACR to prepare the project and send the same to the Chairman for consideration. A deputation of local Sarpanchs and Panchs also called on Tara Chand and projected demands of the area, which primarily include construction of new bus stand and widening of main bazaar.
