10 Days NSS Camp concludes at GDC Hiranagar | | | Hirangar, January 2: 10 days special camp of NSS unit concluded on Monday at Government GL Dogra Memorial Degree College Hiranagar. During the camp, 120 NSS volunteers under organised health, sanitation and education awareness programmes in the adopted nearby Bhajoke chack village. Volunteers aware the rural masses about family planning, environmental hygiene, cleanliness, safe drinking water and sanitation and also presented street plays on these issues. Speaking at the closing ceremony, chief guest Principal Dr. Netar Singh said, "It is necessary that individuals work for society and both move together." He urged the NSS volunteers to continue performing social service. The Closing ceremony was presided over by College Principal Dr. Ramkrishan Sharma. He spoke about the value and importance of medical health care and how NSS camps are a great medium of providing it to the rural areas. He spoke highly of the commitment that goes into these camps and motivated the students to keep up the good work. The camp was organized under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer Prof. Rachna Bhagat. In her address she spoke about motivating and informative the NSS camps are, both for the organizers as well as the locals who come in contact. She said such camps also inspire the students to work hard, study well and serve the society well. The NSS camp was conducted over a period of 10 days starting form December 23 and included health awareness, lectures by eminent speakers, awareness rally as well as sports and cultural activities. NSS Volunteers enthralled the audience with their lively performance on Dogri, Punjabi and patriotic songs. They also depicted social evils through small skit during the function. In last NSS Volunteers were honoured by providing certificates of participation.
