JAMMU, Jan 2: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal today convened a high level meeting of officers to discuss arrangements for the celebration of Republic Day, 2012 at Jammu.
Senior officers from Police, Army, CRPF, Information, Health, Municipality, Education, Revenue PHE, PDD, R&B, Hospitality and Protocol, Traffic, Youth Services and Sports, Health Services and other allied departments attended the meeting.
As already discussed, the main function will be held at MAM Stadium where the VIP will unfurl the National Flag and take salute at the mega Parade comprising of contingents drawn from CRPF, District Police, Forest Protection Force, NSS, NCC boys and girls and tiny platoons from Government/private schools.
The day will start with the playing of Shahnai vadan and Patriotic songs by Information Department in the wee hours. Regarding other arrangements like security, sanitation, sitting, barricading, drinking water, power supply, prize distribution issuance of invitation cards, transportation and illumination, the Divisional Commissioner issued instructions to the concerned departments to ensure foolproof arrangements for smooth conduct of the Republic day.
