| CBI booked Lt Col, Maj, Capt & Ors in purchase of UPSs’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan 2: CBI/ACB after enquiry registered a case u/s 120-B r/w section 420&420-A and section 5(2) r/w 5(1) (d) of J&K PC Act SVT 2006 against Lt Col, Major, Captian & Ors in purchase of UPS Equipments supplied by M/S V Spectra Communication System Pvt Ltd to Northern Command which were later found sub-standard.
According to the PE report submitted by Inspector Kamal Sangra in which it has been submitted that on reliable information that sub-standard UPS/Equipment had been supplied by M/S V Spectra Communication System Pvt Ltd to Northern Command. The enquiry has established that UPS were purchased @ Rs 10, 984.85 per unit by M/S VCSPL from M/S Omcan Power Products Pvt Ltd whereas the same were supplied at exorbitant rates of 32, 169.40 per UPS casuing undue loss of Rs 55, 92, 751 to the exchequer on account of supply of 264 UPS. The enquiry also reveals that the other relied equipment may also be sub-standard and after completion of enquiry registered a case against Col SK Mahala, Northern Command, Major Rohit Saini, Capt Vikram Kundue, Nanak Singh Kohli Director M/S V Spectra Communication System Pvt Ltd, Mathura and started investigation.
