Sikh organisation alleges politicisation of Gurpurab celebration | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 2: National Sikh Front (NSF), J&K, Jammu held meeting of its executive under the Chairmanship of Kulwant Singh Bhatti today wherein amongst other issue pertaining to Sikh fraternity of the state, the celebration of “Parkash Utsav” of Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaj held on December 31 also came under discussion. In a press statement issued here today, NSF said that with the change of guards in the District Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, Jammu, Sikhs from all shade of opinion including religious, social, and political aspects were hopeful that with the ushering in of a change in the DGPC, Jammu, there will be positive and constructive approach to celebrate the function in a religious way. But the mammoth Sikh Sangat gathering in the Gurudwara, Guru Nanak Dev Chand Nagar, Jammu where main function was organized felt highly suffocated and disgusted with the scenario presented. It had become a political gathering of different political parties rather than a religious congregation where instead of remembering the Great Guru Gobind Singh, saviour of India and humanity as a whole, it had become a political stage. It was done by the managers of the programme for their own vested interest to please their political mentors rather than interest of the community. The entire function looked like a political mela which was against the basic tenets to mets of the Sikhs muryaida. It because so only due to planting of persons in the newly formed committee by the State Govt. with utter disregard to the rules and Gurudwara Endowment Act, 1973.
