Jammu thrashes Kashmir in handball | | | JAMMU, Jan 2: Jammu division thrashed Kashmir easily by twenty two goals to eight (22-08) in the State Level Inter-Division U-19 Boys Handball Tournament, while in U-19 Girls event, Jammu trounced Kashmir by six goals to three (6-3) at Gulshan Ground Police Lines, here today. In under-19 boys section, Jammu sailed on superb performance from Happy Mehra and Vishal Vig and outplayed Kashmir by 22-08. Happy scored seven goals, while Vishal netted five. Meanwhile, in under-19 girls, Jammu defeated Kashmir by six goals to three (6-3), with Shivanshi Joshi and Nitika scoring three and two goals respectively. The matches were held to select the J&K team for 57th National School Games in the discipline of handball to be held at Chandigarh soon. The technical cum selection committee included Ram Kumar (ZPEO), Ajay Kumar, Inder Prakash, Sanjay Jamwal, Gourav, Jyoti Sharma and Kartar Dogra.
