RCC Jammu loses to ASC in QFs of Martyrs’ T20 | | | KATHUA, Jan 2: The star-studded Rehari Cricket Club (RCC) today lost to Amritsar Sports Club by five wickets in the quarterfinals of the ongoing 2nd J&K Police Martyrs North Zone Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, here today. Batting first, after winning the toss, RCC could not face the calculated bowling of visiting Amritsar team and lost wickets on regular intervals to finally make an end at 106 for the loss of nine wickets. Except for Sahil, no other batsman could touch the double figure mark thus played poor cricket. Sahil, who opened the RCC innings, remained unbeaten at 65 runs coming off 63 deliveries including seven fours and two sixes. From Amritsar Club, Buta was most successful bowler with three wickets while Shekhar and Avnish shared two each. In reply, Amritsar Sports Club attained the goal making 109 runs in 18.2 overs with five wickets in hand. Buta played match winning knock of 37 runs while Avnish contributed 27 runs to the total. Parkash and Ram Dayal were successful bowlers from RCC Jammu with two and one wicket respectively. For his all-round performance, Buta was named man of the match. He was presented Rs 1500 cash prize jointly by district youth NC president, Harpreet Singh Sethi and block president Barnoti, Sachin Thakur.
