JKP scripts resounding win over BCC in opening T20 tie | | | JAMMU, Jan 2: Jammu and Kashmir Police made a winning start in the Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, organised by the International Human Rights Organisation (UHRO) at University of Jammu ground, here today. In the first match of the competition, J&K Police trounced Bahu Cricket Club. Batting first, after winning the toss, Bahu Club set a target of 95 runs, which, in reply, J&K Police chased in just 10 overs. Raju (17), Muneer (16) and Shammy (19) were main contributors. From Police, Naresh bagged four wickets. Later, J&K Police overhauled the opponent total in just 10 overs. Sohan Lal was highest run getter with 21 while Amit Sharma and Naresh contributed 15 and 19 runs respectively. Naresh of J&K Police was adjudged man of the match for his all round performance. Tournament was declared open by Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Mohd Aslam Goni, who was chief guest. He was accompanied by Director Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, Prof Dhian Singh Bahu and member JKCA, Ranjeet Kalra. Earlier, chairman of IHRO J&K chapter, Harpreet Singh welcomed the distinguished gathering. He informed that 16 teams are taking part in this competition.
