| Two foreign militants, civilian killed in Bandipora | | | Srinagar, Jan 13 At least three persons including two foreign militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba were killed in a fierce encounter with security forces and Jammu Kashmir police in Sumlar area of Bandipora of north Kashmir, here today. A civilian was also killed in the shoot out. Official spokesman told News Agency of Kashmir that the encounter took place, when police and troops of 14 RR acting on specific information cordoned Sumlar village and zeroed on a house of Abdul Jabbar Lone. No sooner did the policemen assisted by the security forces encircled the house they came under heavy fire. A fire fight broke in which two militants of Lashker were killed Sources said that the troops detected a hide out in the house during the search operation. No damage was caused to house. However, one Bashir Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Jabbar Lone was also killed in the encounter. Two AK 47- rifles, six Magazines and 223 Rounds were recovered from the hideout. Meanwhile, Police and Jawans of CRPF busted a hideout in Ganderbal and recovered some arms and ammunition, from the hideout. Acting on a specific information, Police Ganderbal and troops of 42 Bn CRPF carried out search operation in the forest area of Badragund Urpash jurisdiction of Police Station Ganderbal. A hideout of militants was busted where from 5 AK magazines, 139 AK rounds, 2 UBGL grenades, 6 Pencil cells, 1 Brown sugar packet 4 Blankets and 1 Tripolin were recovered from the hideout.
