| People being traumatized by the bids of infiltration | | | GOVIND CHOUHAN JAMMU | JULY 31 Sharp rise in the infiltration bids from across the border by the terrorists of different outfits has made people to live under the shadow of fear, in the villages along border the belt. There are apprehensions among the people that very soon the bitter past of mutual exchange of heavy shelling between two countries is going to repeat itself. Among such recent incidents, in Poonch district, a few days back there was heavy exchange of fire between Pakistan Rangers and BSF, throughout the night. But there has been no report of death or destruction despite that terror is prevailing in the villages of border areas. According to Army sources, this was an endeavor made by Pakistan rangers to infiltrate militants into Indian territory under the cover of shelling and firing. However, Indian soldiers countered the shelling and foiled their heinous plans of intrusion. They further added that there is no hard and fast statistics of number of intruders but the rough estimates say that around 200 ultras alone have penetrated through J&K borders in the month of June alone, who have now scattered into different parts of the country. The same numbers of militants have reportedly crossed the border in the months of April, May, and July. It is pertinent to mention here that in the above mentioned months the militants have increased manifolds in which various have been killed and other got serious injuries in different terrorist activities. According to resources, the war strategies and plan implementations of terrorists have also changed which has been reflected by recent terrorist attacks. Army sources said that with the melting of ice new passages open which make the bids of intrusion easier and secondly during these days militants take shelter in the fields of maize-crops after major incidents and spend days. According to sources last night 3-4 militants cross LoC and entered in India side from Sabzian in Poonch distt. and after that a search operation also launched by security forces to nabbed them but no success has been made as last report came. This is not first incident when militant cross LoC. Sources said after every 3-4 days militants tried to infiltrate from Poonch distt. in which succeeded to infiltrate and some were gunned down by security forces. People have been reportedly deciding to move towards safer places far from border areas. Although officials don’t admit that situation is growing tense yet it has been reported that security across all the sensitive points on the borderline have been intensified. Army is also taking help of thermal image sensors, focus lights and flow of through the fencing in order to check any sort of infiltration. But only the extent of decrease in terrorist activities would speak volumes about the security system.
