| GCET faculty holds meet | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU , January 3 : A meeting of teaching faculty of Government College of Engineering & Technology (GCET) Jammu was held regarding the implementation of 6th Pay scales to the faculty and recruitment rules which are pending for the last 16 years.
The efforts made by G.C.E.T Teaching faculty to put forward their grievances through repeated representations to the concerned Higher authorities have not yield fruitful results. Due to timely inaction on the part of the Administrative Department, the GCET faculty is still deprived of their rightful incentives, whereas, their conterparts holding identical posts and cadre in the state level degree Colleges are enjoying the benefits of 6th Pay Commission.
The above said genuine points were discussed in the meeting and it has been resolved that in case their genuine demands are not met in a reasonable time, the faculty members from January 16 would be forced to resort non-cooperation in respect of class work; examination/ evaluation work; and training and placement department would suspend all the campus placement activities.
